Stacey Dash: From Actress to Congress

Don’t let the name of her most famous movie trick you!  Stacey Dash, age 51, is prepared and has all the right answers to fulfill your needs about her running for Congress.  She has filled out the paperwork and gotten her Twitter account rolling by tweeting things like “Soon”. Dash played Dionne Davenport, the main character Cher’s best friend, in Clueless in 1995. Most recently, she worked at FOX as an air contributor until 2016.
Ms. Dash was born in Bronx, New York to drug addicted parents but she isn’t letting her upbringing do anything but inspire her. The former actress will be running for California’s 44th district which includes Compton, Watts, San Pedro and North Long Beach.  “I live in the 44th unlike some who don’t live in their districts”, she added” Thank you for the support”.  California’s 44th District has been in the hands of Democrats since 2012 but Stacey as a republican is hoping to change that.  She is expected to be one of the top two primary candidates come November. When looking back on Dash’s political history, she voted for former President Obama in 2004 but then supported Mitt Romney in 2008.  Dash said she wanted the next four years to be different and received backlash from Hollywood for supporting Romney.
Dash’s political views follow insight with the republican views and she has spoken out about her personal political views before.  Referring back to living in the Bronx as a child she saw that those who lived on welfare when she was a child were not respected in her community.  That the ‘hustlers’ who made a living for themselves were never messed with and were respected. Dash also has commented on Black History Month and integration saying, “We have to make up our minds. Either we want segregation or integration.  And if we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the image awards, where you’re only awarded if you’re black. If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It’s a double standard”.  At the time, republican presidential candidate Donald Trump praised her for this.
When it was announced Dash filled out the papers to run for Congress, Playboy took it into their hands to remind everyone that she had done an issue with them back in 2006.  Playboy’s Instagram caption reads, “As actress and conservative commentator @REALstaceydash begins to prepare her campaign for Congress in California, we look back to August 2006 at pictures that can enjoyed across party lines”.  Although making a point, it is one that isn’t very supportive to Stacey Dash’s hopeful success. Dash was quick to tweet a follower back who brought it up on Twitter responding, “My response: I conferred with my children when offered. They told me 'go for it mom.' If they didn’t have an issue with it, neither should anyone else. #NoShame”.
