The Ice Cream Parlor You Must Go To - Cincinnati, OH

Image
Back in the days of poodle skirts and no cell phones, friends and families gathered in ice cream parlors to have a treat and chat.  Since the trending CW TV show Riverdale has brought the love of diners  and milkshakes back I found myself searching for a quaint ice cream shop for myself.    I started my hunt around the greater Cincinnati area and found Aglamesis Brothers, a family ran, turn-of-the-century parlor.    They offer homemade ice cream, candy and sandwiches at two locations. While driving in the Montgomery area, it would be easy to pass Aglamesis Brothers parlor but once you stop and go inside you’ll be grateful you caught the sign.    Inside, the shop is set up just like a parlor from the 1950’s.    Pink and cream wallpaper and awnings with antique chande liers and tables.  It is truly a step back in time when walking into Aglamesis Brothers.  You are not just being taken back to the poodle skirt era but also through the Aglamesis family history. The Aglamesis fa

All the Rosé You Need

The season for pink wine lovers is around the corner and Target has granted their wishes.  The brand Yes Way Rosé is introducing its signature rose and Target has already jumped on board.  At the price of $12.99 Yes Way Rosé wine will be sold in Target stores beginning March 4. Yes Way Rosé was started by two wino loving gal-pals who after many summer nights enjoying rose wanted to do something with their appreciation for the blush colored wine.  Erica Blumenthal, a fashion and editor, and Nikki Huganir, an art designer, (pictured below) launched the wine lifestyle brand on Instagram in 2013. Their mission? “ To spread the happiness, humor, and positivité that rosé wine inspires “.  @yeswayrose brought lovers of all things pink and wine together as a community leading the brand to become bigger than Erica and Nikki thought it would.  Yes Way Rosé started with a tote bag (tote) that begun the journey leading to t-shirts, hats, a beach towel, a pair of womens underwear, and can

The Unspoken Reality Of Sleeping With Your Dog

Image
What it's really like sleeping with your dog – no fairytales here, only snoring dogs! Everyone loves to share those cute and funny stories about how adorable their pup just really is. We are all guilty of pulling out our phones to show everyone the cute Snapchat we got today of our dog. We, of course, love our furry friends so shouldn't everyone else? We trust our dog's instinct more than other humans or our own. We refer to dogs as "man's best friend", which is why we all let our big-eyed, four-legged hot box climb into bed with us every night. This generous act always seems like a great idea when we are settling in and see our pups staring at us with their puppy eyes. We feel them saying "you can't leave me down here alone." Although we all love our dogs, not too long after inviting them into our beds do we regret giving in to their cuteness in these simple stages: 1. The "You're so cute let's cuddle" We all love ou

23 Wilmington Locations All 'One Tree Hill' Fans Must Visit

The biggest scenes in the biggest show. It's the oldest story in the world: one day a new tv show comes on and you fall in love with each character and their story. In 2003, the show "One Tree Hill" was born and stole the hearts of fans of many ages. Torn between the sweet, underdog Lucas and tough, popular boy Nathan, people became hooked through the family and relationship drama the characters went through. To this day new fans arise since "One Tree Hill" is thankfully on Hulu. "One Tree Hill" was filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina, which is a small town with a beautiful historic district. As a surprise trip, I visited Wilmington and got to see twenty-three "One Tree Hill" locations that were used to film the TV show. Here are the locations with addresses so all you other fans can enjoy Wilmington and get to see the locations that set some of the biggest scenes in "One Tree Hill". 1. Lucas Scott and Karen Roe's

To That "Friend," You Can't Bring Me Down Anymore

A letter to the people we thought were our friends but only needed us to feel better about themselves. In the United States, there is approximately 37,100 high schools spread amongst the 50 states. The high schools in Hawaii to New Jersey to Iowa are all different of course. Past those differences each state has, the students all are typically the same. In each high school we have the group everyone wants to be in because they are "popular," then there is the group of smarter kids, the people who somewhat keep to themselves, and the social butterflies who have friends within every area of the social hierarchy. I am not here to talk about this imaginable hierarchy though. I would like to say a few things to those in high school who needed me in order to feel better about themselves. In every high school, in every group there is a person who depends on others to feel good about themselves, this letter is for those people. First off, I wish you luck on wherever life i
