Why I Went Greek, Why I Went Alpha Gam

Image
Why I Went Greek, Why I Went Alpha Gam AGD Informal Girls 2017 In February of 2017 I joined the Alpha Gamma Delta chapter at Ohio University and loved it.  I had originally gone through formal recruitment in the Fall of my freshman year but was unable to finish due to having to go home.  I knew Alpha Gam was where I wanted to be so when informal recruitment came around the next semester I took my chance and got my bid!  I met amazing girls who also went through informal with me.  By joining my sorority I was able to open doors that I didn't know were there.  I live with some of my informal girls now and I am .  They have become my people.  I hadn't seen that the people around me and in my classes were people I could call my best  friends, my sisters! My roommate Maddie (she's just awesome)! Deciding to go through recruitment is a tough process on its own, on top of how much work and time goes into recruitment.  Knowing if you want to join Greek life is difficul

How To Get The Best Polaroid Pictures For The Best Price

Image
Recently the polaroid made a comeback and became a fan favorite.  Many young people are buying mini polaroid cameras typically made by Fujifilm and taking pictures to keep up with their aesthetic.  If you are considering buying one of these polaroid cameras, don't! There is nothing wrong with them, it's a blast to have one and I love the pictures.  I had bought a Fujifilm Instax Mini polaroid camera when the trend first hit but I never used it as much as I had wanted and planned.  I always struggled remembering to use it because I typically only take pictures on my phone.  This past week I learned of something that changed the whole game!  One of my favorite bloggers, Bre Sheppard, posted on her Instagram story about a polaroid printer that uses the same film as the polaroid I already owned.  Now I already own a polaroid camera so I should just not spend any more money on the topic and ignore her story... but I couldn't not check it out. The KiiPix Printer is only $33.21

How I Flared Up My Pictures Like An Insta Pro

Image
I was scrolling on Instagram one day and came across a graphic designer, @tayst .  Her work inspired me and I want to try out what she did with some of her pictures.  I have never taken a graphic design class or honestly any art class since grade school so I had no idea how to do this.  I found my way and drew on a few of my pictures just simply on my phone.  The pictures go as I did them so the first ones aren't the best but hopefully you see improvement as you scroll.  I will be honest when I say some of them actually took an hour or so because I draw most of them.  Recently I have tried to use 'stickers' on the app I'm using but I still for the most part draw what I can!  I hope you enjoy them as much as I have enjoyed making them!  Casually standing as a model, I took this picture of my friend Nat before our sorority date party.  It was this picture that made me think maybe I could attempt at trying what @Tayst does and I am so happy I did.  (This picture was e

The Lazy Guide to Baking S'mores Cookies

Image
Whenever I scroll on Pinterest, I always see such appetizing recipes that I pin and pin but never find the time to make.  They always seem to be a bit challenging or take a few hours.  One of my favorite desserts is s'mores but I hate not being able to eat s'mores whenever I want without a bonfire! While trying to decide what to do for date night last night, my boyfriend, Dylan, and I decided we were going to find our own way to easily make s'mores cookies without having to start the cookies from scratch.  While we strolled down the baking aisle at Target we figured out our recipe! There are two options you can do to make these s'more cookies depending on how much time and effort you'd like to put in.  For the simple and easiest version just use pre-made Toll House cookie dough.  If looking to not start from scratch but still bake cookie dough follow along below! Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again Review *NO SPOILERS*

Image
My Thoughts Me in the empty theater an  hour before the previews Last night I saw the premiere of Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again and I am still unsure what to say.  I was so excited to see the movie that I made my family show up at 9PM for a 9:50PM showing.  We definitely didn't need to show up that early considering the next people didn't show up until 9:30PM but oh well!  Before going in I was interested in a few things.  The first was what is Meryl Streeps role in this movie?  I had only seen a quick snippet of her in a preview.  I also wondered about how the flashbacks would work.  Will they be half and half of the movie or back and forth over the whole time?  I won't give any spoilers away about what happens in the movie though.  Mamma Mia 2 held up to my very high expectations.  I loved the movie and all the songs and dancing.  I will say that if you are anything like me, aka a big baby, you may want to bring tissues. The movie is set forward five years fro

22 Things Every Modern Woman Should Carry in Her Purse

Image
Some things a girl just always needs in her purse!  Here are twenty-two items I believe every modern woman should carry in her purse no matter where she is going. 1.  Lipstick/Lipgloss Every lady should have their favorite shade of lipstick or lipgloss that they can have to throw on or touch up when on the go.  This is a must because you never know when you will want to make your lips pop or dress yourself up a little more when you may have not expected it.  Of course accompany this with chapstick, duh! 2.  Advil/Aspirin Being somewhere and getting a headache or cramps because you don't have a pain reliever is the worst.  Never get caught without something to cure a headache because with a headache you can't enjoy your day or focus on what is in front of you very well. 3.  Safety Pins A wardrobe malfunction is a crisis that most aren't able to fix without a safety pin!  Always be able to fix your own or a fellow friend who may find themselves within havoc if thei

Review: KIKO/LUSH Makeup and Face Masks

I'm not the best when it comes to facial routines and keeping my skin healthy but with school stress and temporarily moving to a different country, I knew I needed to take better care of my skin while in Italy.  I decided to try some new products and branch out from my typical Clinique routine.  Europe has many more laws compared to the United States, blocking out many ingredients we put in our foods and beauty products because they are unhealthy.  The first brand I tried is KIKO, an Italian brand started in Milan in 1997.  The next was Lush, although sold in America was founded in the United Kingdom so it follows all of the European rules to make it healthier.  I haven't tried many things at Lush besides their bath bombs which I love!  Below are my reviews on the products I have tried since being here.  Let me tell you, I'm not sure I'll be able to not use these products anymore once I'm home, they are that amazing! KIKO Waterproof Mascara I never wear waterpr

Crayola Launches Beauty Line

The well-known crayon company, Crayola, teamed up with ASOS to come out with a makeup line.  I am not majorly into makeup but I may just have to test one out when I get back to the states!  All of the products seem decently priced considering how expensive makeup can be.  Crayola's makeup line is a 58 piece collection with eye palettes, bold colored mascaras, highlighters, color changing lipsticks and a brush kit.  In total, there are 95 shades within the collection and each item is vegan so the products are healthy for your face and animal cruelty free.  You can buy these products currently on ASOS website! 28 Empowering Kate Spade Quotes

Image
Kate Spade circa 2004 With the recent passing of Kate Spade, I have been looking through my Kate Spade books SHE and Places to Go.  These books are filled of inspiring images accompanied with some of Kate Spades most inspiring quotes.  In 1993, Kate Spade started Kate Spade New York with her husband.  The brand is a major hit to this day following the original inspiration despite Kate Spade selling the company in 2007.  Kate Spade inspired her brand to be for the working woman who longed for fashion and colorful accessories.  For the women who wanted fashion rather than thinking they needed it.  She inspired many through her pieces and personally, her quotes are always great inspiration to me.  Here are 28 of my favorite Kate Spade quotes:  She makes the day brighter, she leaves a little sparkle wherever she goes. Think, travel, celebrate, charm, decorate, dress, live - colorfully.  She looks for adventure around every corner. She danced all night and all the way home.  She i

A Weekend in Roma

Image
At 7AM on Friday, May 25, 2018, my study abroad class met our spectacular professor so we could board a train to Rome.  With our backpacks, all sixteen of us climbed on to the train ready for our first overnight weekend trip, unsure of what would happen! Once arrived in Rome we dropped our backpacks off at the Hotel Atlantico where we would stay that weekend  and started venturing through the city.  We walked to the Spanish Steps, the Caravaggio in S. Lugi  dei Francesi Church, to the Pantheon, Museum and Crypt of Capuchin Monks and of course the Trevi Fountain to throw our coins!  Now the Museum and Crypt of Capuchin Monks is not something many have heard of so I will elaborate a little on what exactly this crazy  museum really was!  The museum didn't allow taking pictures but just imagine real bones all over.  The bones seemed a bit blackened because of all the the time that had passed which just made them creepier to me.  The chandeliers were even  made of these Monks bone
